To support the diverse driving needs of our neighbors, the Grand Highlander offers three distinct powertrains, all available with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) to tackle local snow and gravel roads. The 2.4L Turbo Gas engine delivers 265 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque. It uses a Direct Shift-8AT 8-speed automatic transmission and is available with Dynamic Torque Control AWD, which actively manages power between the front and rear axles for better traction. The 2.5L Hybrid focuses on efficiency with a manufacturer-estimated 34 to 36 combined MPG depending on the configuration. This system produces 245 net combined horsepower and utilizes an Electronic On-Demand AWD system that uses a dedicated electric motor to power the rear wheels when extra grip is needed. The 2.4L Turbo Hybrid MAX is the performance leader, generating 362 net combined horsepower and 400 net combined lb.-ft. of torque. Paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and Full-Time Electronic AWD, it provides a responsive, rear-wheel-drive-biased feel that is excellent for merging onto the highway or navigating mountain passes.

The Grand Highlander features a hammerhead nose and a bold, trapezoidal grille that gives it a confident stance on the road. Its functional shape is designed with visibility in mind, featuring a low hood line and large side windows which are essential for spotting wildlife or navigating tight parking spots in downtown Lander. The exterior includes unique grilles such as a gunmetal gray finish on the Hybrid MAX and a black-painted grille on LE and XLE grades. Standard LED headlights and available LED Fog Lamps provide improved visibility during foggy mornings near the Popo Agie River. Wheel options range from 18-inch alloy wheels on the LE and XLE to 20-inch wheels on Limited and Platinum grades. The Hybrid Nightshade edition is a new addition for 2026 featuring blacked-out accents, including the grille, mirror caps, door handles, and 20-inch black alloy wheels.

The cabin is designed as a sanctuary, utilizing acoustic glass on the windshield and front windows to keep the Wyoming wind noise at bay. It can seat seven or eight passengers, and the third row is specifically designed to fit adults comfortably with 33.5 inches of legroom. Interior comfort is enhanced by versatile seating options like second-row bench seats or Captain’s Chairs. Premium materials range from durable fabric to SofTex® or leather-trimmed seating, with Ultrasuede® accents exclusive to the Hybrid MAX. Standard three-zone automatic climate control ensures everyone stays warm during our sub-zero winters. The cabin also includes 13 cup holders, including one designed for large bottles or mega cups, and a functional passenger-side dashboard tray. Cargo Capacity The Grand Highlander is built for long-haul utility and even with the third row up, it can hold seven carry-on suitcases. It provides 20.6 cu. ft. of space behind the third row. Folding the third row expands this to 57.9 cu. ft. behind the second row. With all rear seats folded flat, the vehicle offers a massive 97.5 cu. ft. of cargo capacity.
